MADRID, 7 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Argentine soccer player Federico Gattoni highlighted this Friday “the magnitude of this club”, alluding to his recent arrival at Sevilla FC, for “the history” and for “the greatness” of the people of Seville since, in his own words, “the seven Europa League wins are not minor”.
“I am very clear about the magnitude of this club, the history, the greatness, the seven Europa League wins are not minor. It is a club of great magnitude that is full of expectations and dreams,” said the Argentine center-back during an interview with the official media of the club, after his debut at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium.
“It’s crazy. From the first moment I felt the affection from all parts of the club, both from the fans and from the people who work here. For me it’s a pleasure and I feel very comfortable”, commented Gattoni, feeling ready to face “a new challenge” in his professional career.
“We live with challenges, but this is one for which I have prepared myself and that I really want to face,” he argued. “It has been a big step for me. Every change takes some movement, but I took it in the best way and I enjoyed everything. Until the last day in San Lorenzo and from the first day here in Seville”, he added in this regard.
Likewise, Gattoni spoke about his new teammates. “There are great players in the squad and many Argentines, which is no less a point for one in an adaptation. I’ve met great guys and it’s a pleasure for me to be here. They’ve told me wonders, no wonder”.
In line with this, he was also questioned about the history of the Argentines in Sevilla throughout all these years: “Great players have passed through this club. I know that the Argentines have made history here and they have done well and for me it is a new challenge and I am here to help, to contribute so that the history of Sevilla continues to grow”.
“I followed Sevilla at all times, I am clear about what the fans are and their demands. It is a beautiful challenge, I can’t wait to be at Sánchez-Pizjuán, it is a beautiful experience that I want to live,” said Gattoni, to later detail his own style of play and what he will try to contribute to the Seville team.
“I feel that I am a player who always seeks to go forward. My objective is to win duels and be the protagonist, which is what you have to be in the big clubs. The intention of the first pass is always important and they are going to have someone that he is going to leave his life for the colors, as I always did where he touched me”, he summarized.
Regarding the current squad, he valued their competitiveness: “You have to compete and I’m always here to do my bit to make it the best for the team, which is paramount.” In addition, he did not hide that playing in the Champions League motivates him. “It’s a great challenge. The team finished the season in a very good way and going to the Champions League we all know what it means. I was very happy”, he stressed.
In this sense, his official debut as a Nervionense could be in Athens during the European Super Cup, in the event of playing minutes on August 16 against Manchester City: “Every season renews expectations, but starting with a final has a taste with that plus more. Going game by game is the best path to great things”.
“I think that this is my way of being and it will be until the last day. I have always characterized myself as being competitive, but with the best interests to have a clear idea of what we want to achieve. My idea is always to contribute the best and be the best to contribute from where I touch”, declared the Argentinian defender.
“I arrive loaded with dreams and expectations, but I have a clear idea that the objective is to go game by game, which is what leads to great things. But without a doubt I come full of confidence, dreams and expectations,” he insisted. “I constantly seek to improve, I have a lot to grow and to contribute and help from where I have to. I come with a lot of ambition to fight for things and to be a protagonist,” he added.
Lastly, he admitted that he was “very anxious” to play for Sánchez-Pizjuán, to meet the fans and “to live that experience”. “I am a player who at all times will contribute and give my best for the club, everything I have will be available to make it the best possible this season and for many more,” he concluded.
