The velodrome of Galapagar (Madrid) on Saturday lived the first day of the Nationals of adapted cycling on the track, where the first champions of Spain, individual chase for bicycles, tandems and team speed.
In the individual chase for bicycles, the forecasts were met with Ricardo Ten (MC1), Maurice Eckhard (MC2), Eduardo Santas (MC3), Óscar Higuera (MC4) and Myriam Martínez (WC5). Meanwhile, among the female tandems the victory was for the international Kuki López and Irene Méndez.
Ignasi Ávila-Joan Font prevailed in one of the most exciting battles to sign up for the title of male persecution for tandems, for less than three seconds before Adolfo Bellido-Noel Martín. In team speed, the Hyundai-Koryo Car Dstrel, composed of Miñana, Ten and Agapito won the class C5.
The morning session allowed us to define the fight for medals in the individual chase for bicycles, for tandems and for team speed in the afternoon. Ten stayed the gold in class C1 with a sensational 4.03: 224 ahead of Juanjo Méndez and Carlos Javier Mozos. In class C2, Maurice Eckhard, Xavier Caballol and Raúl Vallinot occupied the podium; in C3 Eduardo Santas met the forecasts, ahead of Jaime Andrés and Aitor Oleaga; in C4, Óscar Higuera, Pedro Sánchez-Migallón and Jorge Orejón was the podium and Myriam Martínez and José Luis Agapito won in class C5.
A time of 4.24: 764 gave gold in the persecution for tandems to Ignacio Ávila and Joan Font, ahead of Adolfo Bellido and Noel Martín and Félix Martín and Javier Ley. In the female category, Ginesa 'Kuki' López and Irene Méndez dominated with clarity to Josefa Benítez and Fina Casas. The triumph in team speed was validated by the Hyundai – Koryocar Dstrel ahead of the Basque national team of Amador Granados, Aritz Martiarena and Alfonso Postigo, and the Madrid team formed by Raúl Vallinot, Jaime Andrés and Manuel Pérez.
