Gabigol gives € 3M to Barcelona

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS) has ordered Santos to pay 2.9 million euros to Barcelona for Gabigol. In 2016, the Brazilian club transferred the striker to Inter Milan for a figure close to € 30m, without notifying the Blaugrana club previously. Thus, he breached one of the clauses included in the agreement by Neymar, which stated that the entity of the Ciudad Condal had the right of first refusal on the soccer player.

Barcelona, ​​once the transfer took place, went to court to defend their rights. Now, Cadena SER has informed that Santos must compensate the club for, indeed, not having respected the signed agreement previously by both entities. This marked that Barça had 72 hours to match Inter Milan's 30 million offer. If he did, Gabigol would stop at the Camp Nou and not in Italy. However, as the courts have decided, the established deadlines were not met.

Despite all the commotion that the signing caused in his day, Gabigol was unsuccessful in his European adventure. At Inter Milan he was only able to score one goal in the 2016-17 season, with ten games played. Later, he went on loan to Benfica in search of regain the confidence that had made him shine in his native country. In Portugal he only played five games, with a single goal.
