Fuenlabrada surprises a soft Leganés

Fuenlabrada achieved three worthy and important points in Butarque, where only two visitors had won to date, against a Leganés who takes a step back in their aspirations for direct promotion.

The initial minutes were trial and error, with two teams studying each other without hurting themselves. Thus, the first chance did not come until at the edge of half an hour Borja Bastón tried to score with a hit without dropping the ball that passed near a post.

The response in the opposite area was more forceful, since Pulido found himself with the crossbar in the header after a lateral foul. Also in a set piece action, the last one was born before the break, when Bastón again crashed the ball on the side of the net after a good control.

That opportunity left the Blue and Whites wanting more and they showed it back to the green, because for a few moments they locked up the rival and were able to get ahead with a shot from Pardo well repelled by Belman. It did not help them much, since a powerful and distant impact from Cristóbal that surprised Cuéllar made that siege useless.

The target, perhaps unexpectedly, dislodged Leganés. Faced with an opponent focused from that moment on keeping the advantage, the host took time to find solutions to the mess he had gotten himself into.

And when he seemed to be on his way out of the labyrinth, he received another blow when Pulido finished comfortably with a strategic action that had left him only a few meters from the goal and with time to define.

It was the definitive setback for the Leganenses, who for the first time this season have chained two duels at home without winning.
