FSU quarterback Tate Rodemaker is going through the transfer process, so he won’t play to the Orange Bowl against Georgia: Find Out More

Tate Rodemaker, the quarterback for Florida State, wants to transfer, so he won’t play to the Orange Bowl against Georgia, a team source revealed Monday.

The redshirt junior takes over as the Seminoles’ starting after Jordan Travis hurt his left leg against North Alabama on November 18.

However, he was hurt in the head during Florida State’s ACC championship win over Louisville on December 2.

There are five days until Florida State plays Georgia in the Orange Bowl, but its starting quarterback has already chosen to transfer. Now that the NCAA Transfer Portal is here, welcome to the world of college football.

Tate Rodemaker will likely be blamed by many for making the choice public on Christmas Day Monday. Instead, Brock Glenn, a freshman, took his place.

After being signed out of Valdosta High School within Valdosta, Georgia, the redshirt junior has stayed with the Seminoles for four years.

Roger Rodemaker, who is the son about a coach named Alan, did what was best for him and his job going forward.

This offseason, FSU has thought about inviting other QB transfers, like Cam Ward from Washington State and DJ Uiagalelei from Oregon State, for official visits.

Both of them have been to FSU and have one more year of college eligibility, so they won’t be coming to Tallahassee to stand behind Rodemaker. The Seminoles have let Rodemaker know they are ready to face someone else, but they haven’t said it.

FSU football didn’t get any extra help from the bowl selection commission after being turned down by the College Football Playoff committee to play for a national title.

So far, opt-outs have been the Florida State Seminoles’ main problem. They will be missing important players like Trey Benson, Rodney Hill, Johnny Wilson, Keon Coleman, Bless Harris, Jared Verse, Fabien Lovett Sr., Malcolm Ray, and DJ Lundy because they are either transferring or declaring for the NFL Draft.

Monday afternoon, Matt Zenitz, the national college football writer for 247Sports, said that Tate Rodemaker, the redshirt junior quarterback for Florida State, told the coaches that he wants to transfer and will not play in the Orange Bowl.

For Seminole fans who will be able to watch this football game, the news just got worse. Since the Seminoles were not chosen by the NCAA College Football Playoff Committee to be in the playoff, the Orange Bowl has become a practice.

People can’t really blame Rodemaker to wanting to leave the school. The offensive coordinator from Valdosta, Georgia, has been with the Seminoles for four years and has only made two college starts.

Because so many players were not in the Orange Bowl, it’s probably wasn’t the best time to try to get more film of the Bulldogs, who look like they are as healthy as they can be.

Still, I’m sure that Mike Norvell, the head football coach, will have his team as ready as they are capable of being for this tough game. It will be interesting to see how true rookie quarterback Brock Glenn handles things.

For the game between the No. 5 Seminoles and No. 6 Bulldogs, FSU is likely to start rookie Brock Glenn.

Even though it wasn’t in the College Football Playoff, the game between 13–0 Florida State and 12–1 Georgia looked like it would be one of the best bowl games of the college football season at first.
