Froilán makes Ramadan in Abu Dhabi

Wherever you go, do what you see. It is the maximum that the grandson of the King Juan Carloswhich has been living in Abu Dhabi for three years, where Ramadan began on February 28. It is the Islamic fasting, a religious belief that is maintained for 30 days in which you cannot eat, drink or smoke during the day, only at night. Froilán He does not share the background of this custom but he wanted to show “solidarity” and “empathy” with his companions and friends, so he maintains the same food schedule as them during the month of March.

Aurelio Manzano has told this Tuesday in Everything is a lie: “He does it because he wants to empathize with his coworkers. If everyone is doing the Ramadan, he will not arrive and he will take out a meal. It seems wonderful to empathize with people, beyond what it means to Muslims.” He also ensures that this is not the first year: “He has done it three times.”

The Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, is considered the most sacred month for Muslims. Fasting is practiced as a way of approaching God and consists in refraining from eating, drinking, smoking and maintaining relationships from dawn to sunset. It is a religious obligation for adult Muslims although it has exceptions: pregnant women, sick, elderly, travelers and children are not obliged to fast. The day begins with the “Suhoor”, a meal that is taken before dawn to provide energy during the day and, at sunset, fasting is broken with the “Ifar”, a meal that begins with dates and water, followed by more elaborate dishes.

Two years away from Spain

It was in 2023 when Froilán left Madrid and set up to Abu Dabi, where his professional career began thanks to his grandfather, very friend of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed. Froilán works in a multinational such as Junior and performs tasks related to marketing, public relations and logistics. The salary he receives is according to his post and shares a floor with other young people of his age.

In addition, he often visit his grandfather Juan Carlos, who lives in Dubai, and returns to Spain whenever he can see his friends, especially Belén Perea, with whom he maintains a very affectionate bond.
