Froilán, about his grandfather Juan Carlos: “I am lucky to spend his last days with him”

A few months ago the grandson of the emeritus settled in Abu Dhabi to start a new stage and little by little details about the life that froilan enjoy more than 7,000 kilometers from Spain. It seems that the plan infanta elena and his father, Don Juan Carlos (the architects of the boy’s move) has paid off: Froilán works, plays sports and spends a lot of time with his grandfather. Finally he has settled down.

Friends and colleagues of Victoria Federica’s brother have spoken to Focus, which premiered this Monday with the report ‘Froilán, the expatriate’. They confirm that, although he was very tired of the media pressure to which he was subjected in Madrid, they “forced” him to settle in Abu Dhabi.

Here he works in one of the most important oil companies in the world, whose president is a close friend of Juan Carlos I and one of the most powerful men in the Emirates. In their free time practice sports, specifically paddle tennis and kitesurfing, to which he has become fond. “He leads a calmer and healthier life”, they say. He has his own accommodation but spends a lot of time with his grandfather, whom he visits almost daily to share lunch or dinner. They are very close and this time together is a gift, as Froilán himself has revealed to his friends: “I am lucky to live here and be with him in his last days”.

Juan Carlos, for his part, is delighted with the company of his favorite grandson: “Froilán is fantastic”, he has told Focus exclusively. “He is working and very happy, fantastic.”

Felipe VI’s nephew has barely been in Abu Dhabi for three months but he is perfectly adapted. Accompanied by his new group of friends, he visits restaurants and bars on weekends, and if they feel like partying they move to neighboring Dubai: “There’s more nightlife here,” they say.
