MADRID, 6 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Swiss high-performance brand Odlo has signed French biathlete Martin Fourcade, his country’s all-time winner of the Games, with five gold medals, for four years, and will work with the company on projects, events, product development and various campaigns.
“It’s an honor to join the Odlo family. I already have a long history with Odlo having had the opportunity to wear it throughout my professional career. I grew up watching my French and Norwegian idols win wearing Odlo, so it’s a great pride join this renowned brand. I am very excited to grow together and inspire others with a multi-sport passion for the outdoors all year long,” Fourcade commented.
In 13 years of international competition, Fourcade managed to get on the podium on more than 180 occasions in Olympic Games, World Championships and World Cups. After leaving professional biathlon in March 2020, Fourcade enjoys the sport outdoors.
Fourcade made a name for itself since its World Cup debut in March 2008 and through 186 podium finishes and its Olympic successes, Odlo’s Olympic moment at the Sapporo Games in 1972 where 25 national teams wore the first fully base layer synthetic, the Odlo Thermic, in the pre-sponsorship era.
Today, Fourcade is a multidisciplinary athlete who runs, bikes, skis, and enjoys spending time in the mountains. “We are very proud to have an athlete with Martin’s track record and interests join us. “This is the beginning of a new era for the brand driven by a passion for being active, and we are delighted to have Martin as a partner that can help bring our performance apparel closer to more everyday athletes,” added Daniel Eppler, Odlo’s new CEO.
