Franco sends “encouragement” to Nadal and Márquez: “The hard moments serve to feel affection for those who are next to you”

MADRID, 22 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Franco, has sent “encouragement” to the tennis player Rafa Nadal and the pilot Marc Márquez, who announced their injuries on Tuesday, and has assured that the “hard moments” also serve “to feel and know how to value the love and respect” of those who “always” are with you.

“Falls, injuries and their recovery periods are the bitterest side in the life of the athlete. Hard moments that also serve to feel and know how to value the love and respect of those who will always be by your side. All our encouragement, Marc Márquez and Rafa Nadal,” he wrote on his official Twitter account.

Nadal, number three in the world, will be out between four and six weeks after it was confirmed that he suffers from a stress crack in the third left ribcage that occurred during the Indian Wells semifinal match against Carlos Alcaraz.

For his part, Márquez suffered a new episode of diplopia, that is, double vision, after his chilling fall during Sunday’s ‘warm up’ at the Indonesian Grand Prix, which prevented him from participating in the race, and he must be evaluated next week to find out when he will be able to return to competition.
