French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin has accused French striker Karim Benzema of having “notorious links to the Muslim Brotherhood”, an Islamist organization considered terrorist in the country.
“Benzema has notorious links with the Muslim Brotherhood,” the politician declared forcefully this Tuesday during an interview on the French television network CNews, in which he spoke about terrorism after the double murder on Monday in Brussels.
The former Real Madrid player, now in the ranks of the Saudi Al-Ittihad, spoke out this week regarding the Israeli attack on the Gaza Strip in response to the Hamas attacks last week. “All our prayers for the inhabitants of Gaza, who are once again victims of these unjust bombings that do not spare women and children,” he said on social media.
