Four people arrested in Italy for allegedly stealing a luxury watch from Charles Leclerc

ROME, 4 Apr. (dpa/EP) –

Four people suspected of having stolen a luxury watch from Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) have been arrested this Tuesday in Italy, local police reported.

Police said three men and a woman were detained after several months of investigation, and other expensive watches and cash were found during searches. All four have police records.

The Ferrari driver was robbed in April 2022 while he was in the town of Viareggio, located on the north coast of Tuscany. According to the press, people recognized him, asked for his autographs and photos, and the thieves took advantage of the tumult to steal his watch.
