Footballers from the F League thrash ‘for equality’ at the great party of women’s football

Women’s football celebrated this Wednesday in Madrid the fourth edition of the ‘Goles for Equality by Finetwork Liga F’ match, a great party that was held at the GOfit Vallehermoso Municipal Pavilion under the motto ‘Without F, football is not written the same’ , and with the presence of 21 soccer players, including Jennifer Hermoso.

The striker from Madrid, currently in the Mexican Pachuca, was the great attraction of the event, organized by the company ‘G2O Publisport’ and which also had previous matches of mixed 5-a-side football teams for youngsters and children. “It’s always special to come home to play these games. I’m very happy that these types of events continue to take place,” said the soccer player.

With the aim of launching a message of awareness against discrimination based on gender, the match was also attended by the president of the Spanish Women’s First Division (Finetwork Liga F), Beatriz Álvarez Mesa. “Today is a special day, where ‘Goles for equality’ vindicates that path that still remains towards equality,” she pointed out.

“It is true that we have taken important steps and this 2022 we have marked a milestone that is the professionalization of the first women’s league in Spain. But since there is still a long way to go to achieve that effective equality, it is necessary to claim through this type of event and make visible to the players in the league,” said Álvarez.

Unlike previous editions, the ‘Goals for Equality’ match pitted for the first time two teams of current and former players from the F League and other competitions such as Jenni Hermoso, as well as some U-17 world champions such as Clara Camacho (Real Madrid), Cristina Librán, Marina Rivas and Sandra Villafañe (Madrid CFF), the former international Natalia de Pablos or content creators on social networks such as Cristi Medina and ‘Sankhs’.

In addition, ‘Mapi’ Vilas (FC Levante Las Planas), Alba Hoyas (Albacete Foundation), Carol Férez and María Méndez (Levante UD), Ana María Catalá, Laura Domínguez and Itziar Pinillos (Madrid CFF), Jimena Vicario (Parquesol Valladolid) participated ), María Hernández and Lucía León (Real Betis Féminas), Raquel Íñigo (Real Madrid), Jessica Martínez (Sevilla FC) and Claudia Iglesias ‘Bicho’ (Villarreal CF).

On the benches, as technical managers of both teams, were Andrea Esteban (Valencia Féminas) and David Aznar (former Real Madrid), with the assistance of Maitane López and Lola Gallardo (Atlético de Madrid), respectively. The victory was for the ‘Finetwork White’ team, led by Jenni Hermoso, against ‘Finetwork Blue’, led by María Méndez, 8-3 after a 30-minute game.
