The grotesque that has been living in the Lleida Esportiu in recent months seemed to end with the change of owners of the entity. The departure of the Esteve brotherswhich had led the club to bankruptcy, and the arrival of Luis Pereira and his team was going to develop peacefully. Until the previous week and, especially, on Sunday morning, when a series of acts took place that have been reported to the Mossos d’Esquadra. “There will be no negotiation. We must be a space of peace and coexistence. Lleida does not deserve what happened”Pereira commented.
The previous president went to the Camp d’Esports with the key to the stadium that he still owns (and that he did not want to return) to take documentation. The new managers had made public their intention to carry out an exhaustive audit to find out about the club’s finances. Alerted by the presence of the previous owners, Vicente Javaloyes, one of the current managers, also appeared at the stadium. Upon arrival, he warned Albert Esteve and recorded him with his phone. The former president went to him and threw him to the ground.
The attack has already been reported to the Mossos d’Esquadra. The new managers have already proceeded to change the locks and since Sunday there is private security in the stadium, paid by the new owner to prevent the previous ones. Despite these attempts, a sculpture from the stadium and papers have disappeared. Marc Torres, Pereira’s lawyer, commented that “it will be laborious to carry out the audits, it is as if there had been a fire.”
Esteve himself tried to access the stadium again when the lock was being changed but the Mossos did not let him, so he took advantage of the fact that the official account of Twitter of the Lleida Esportiu to write that he would denounce the new managers and the city council for what happened. A new chapter in a series that is now experiencing its peak.
