Florentino is left without the last player he inherited from Calderón

With the captain’s goodbye Marceloto whom this Monday Real Madrid will be dismissed with honors at the Valdebebas Sports City (1:00 p.m.), the white president, Florentino Perezwill lose the last of the 22 footballers left in 2009 by his predecessor in charge, Ramon Calderon.

Of the 26 players who reached the Real Madrid under the attorney’s mandate, between July 2, 2006 and January 16, 2009 (two years and 198 days), with Florentino a total of 22 players left the club, while with Calderón four more packed their bags (Emerson, Reyes, Soldier and Balboa).

Florentino dismantled the Dutch clan

Until this season there was only one ‘survivor’, Marcelowhom Calderón signed the Fluminense Brazilian for 7 million euros in the winter market of the 2006-07 academic year. Of the 22 footballers who Florentino inherited from the ‘calderonian’ stage, six Dutchmen ended up leaving the club (Huntelaar, Van der Vart, Robben, Sneijder, Drenthe and Van Nistelrooy)five Argentines (Garay, Heinze, Saviola, Higuain and Gago) and four Spanish (Parejo, De la Red, Javi García and Miguel Torres).

They are joined by a Malian (Mahamadou Diarra)a Czech (Dudek)a Portuguese (Pepe)an Italian (Cannavaro)a German (Metzelder)a Frenchman (Lass Diarra) and finally a brazilian (Marcelo).

Upon returning to the presidency of the Real Madridin the summer of 2009, Florentino dispensed with 11 of these 22 players, half of the ‘legacy’ of its predecessor. In 2010-11 another four came out, a couple in 2011-12, two in 2012-13, one in 2013-14, another in 2016-17 and the last (Marcelo), in 2021-22.

The 22 footballers of the era Calderón that ended his merengue stage under the presidency of Florentino left a total of 135.5 million euros in the coffers of the Real Madrid. The Argentinian Gonzalo Higuain was the best sale for 37 ‘kilos’ at Napleswhile the club did not enter a penny for ten players: Cannavaro, Diarra, Van Nistelrooy, De la Red (he left football due to a heart problem), Dudek, Heinze, Drenthe, Metzelder, Pepe y Marcelo.
