MADRID, 6 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Brazilian Flamengo and Saudi Al Hilal will play this Tuesday (8:00 p.m.) in the first semifinal of the FIFA Club World Cup, which will be held in Morocco, with a place for the duel for the title at stake, while Real Madrid- Al Ahly this Wednesday will be the other finalist of the tournament.
The Rio de Janeiro team came to this tournament as champions of the last Copa Libertadores, as the most demanding rival in a hypothetical final against the team coached by Carlo Ancelotti. Arturo Vidal, David Luiz, Filipe Luis or ‘Gabigol’ are some of the most outstanding footballers in a daring and showy squad. Attacker Bruno Henrique, injured, although one of the most dangerous offensive weapons of the Brazilian club, has also traveled to Morocco.
The last precedent for Flamengo in the ‘Mundialito’ in 2019, they fell (0-1) in the final against Liverpool. Before, he already played the Intercontinental Cup in 1981, beating the ‘reds’ in Japan 3-0. Regarding their dynamics before the tournament, “Mengao” beat Boavista (1-0) in the Rio de Janeiro championship, their last match before the Club World Cup, after losing (4-3) the Brazilian Super Cup against Palmeiras.
Opposite will be Al Hilal who got rid of the Moroccan Wydad Casablanca in the quarterfinals of the tournament, showing more mettle and confidence in penalties, after completing the game and extra time with a 1-1 score. The Saudi team participates in the Club World Cup as champion of the 2021 Asian ‘Champions’, since this year’s champion has not yet been defined.
Al Hilal boasts of having the key core of the Asian country’s team, with midfielder Salem Aldawsari as a key player. In addition, it has other players who have belonged to European clubs, such as the exrojiblanco Luciano Vietto; the ex of Granada, Watford and Manchester United Odion Ighalo; the ex of Sporting de Portugal, Benfica and Watford André Carrillo, who is a doubt due to injury; or the former Porto striker Moussa Marega.
The other semifinal will be played by Real Madrid and Al Ahly this Wednesday (8:00 p.m./Telecinco), at the Príncipe Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat. The Egyptian team, the most successful team in Africa with 10 Champions League titles, beat Seattle Sounders (0-1) with a goal from Afsha in the 88th minute. The Whites, European champions last season, aspire to be in the final on February 11 (8:00 p.m.) and opt for the reconquest of a Club World Cup that he won in 2018 for the seventh and last time.
