Five players the Warriors want to trade by the trade deadline who may assist Stephen Curry turned around a bad season
The Golden State Warriors may be the NBA team that needs help the most at the trade deadline. They have said on the record as well as in tips to many news outlets that they want to make a change.
It would be surprising if the Warriors didn’t do a thing before the trade deadline on February 8. They could make a move that changes the team forever, which could mean that one or more of their great players leave.
As Curry quite honestly put it, the Warriors have been in a terrible mood lately. Their two home losses in lopsided games have added to the problems they’ve had this season, on as well as off the court.
After Draymond Green was suspended, Chris Paul got hurt, and Andrew Wiggins disappeared, the Warriors will look to bring in some new players to fix a few problems.
News sources say that everyone but Curry has been put on the table as a possible deal option.
A lot of names have been linked to Golden State in trade rumors. Here is a list of what the team can give up and then five trade candidates who could help the Warriors turn around a poor season.
At the beginning of the season, the Golden State Warriors were very good. But in November, they had a hard time getting wins.
The Warriors got better in the middle of December, but they lost again on Christmas to the Denver Nuggets. They have now lost three straight games.
Steph Curry recently made it sound like the coaching staff needs to make some tough choices about the team and rotation.
It also sends a message out to the management that the present team isn’t making the most of the few years he’s spent in the NBA:
A little less than two months remain until the NBA trade deadline. Fans want the Golden State Warriors to implement changes.
Some people want Mike Dunleavy Jr. to take a big move, while others want Steve Kerr to change his offense and put his faith in his young players.
Take a look at these five big moves the Warriors might make before August 31. Moving these things around has nothing to do with each other and is just a guess at this point.
The Toronto Raptors may trade Pascal Siakam beforehand the deadline. The Golden State Warriors are going to have to make a tough choice because the Raptors want a young player in return.
Andrew Wiggins could go to Toronto to make money, and Jonathan Kuminga would be a great fit there.
Golden State may also bring in Kevon Looney, even though Trayce Jackson-Davis is already ready to start at center.
With Siakam, Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Chris Paul, and Draymond Green, Golden State could at least make the playoffs.
The Warriors just finished a seven-game homestand which was probably their best chance to turn around their season.
They went 2–5 with some losses, like the Pelicans’ 36–point thrashing that made fans boo in the Chase Center.
Those fans are now putting all their hopes on the final day for trades, hoping that something, anything, will happen to save the season and keep the title run going for a little longer.
To do this, Shams Charnaia in Fan Duel’s Run it Back show says that the Warriors’ front office sees everyone who isn’t Stephen Curry as tradeable.
This is, in some ways, the right way for GM Mike Dunleavy and the front office to think: look into everything.
The Warriors COULD try to make a big trade at the deadline by sending Chris Paul and his $30 million, non-guaranteed deal to a team that has a first-round pick and a potential young player like Jonathan Kuminga or Moses Moody.
