FIFPro has made this warning public and has encouraged players with concerns or questions to contact their national unions or the union itself.

According to FIFPro data, in Romania and Turkey the contractual infractions by the clubs – including non-payment of wages – are a recurring and long-standing problem and a large number of Romanian teams have entered insolvency proceedings.

This brings serious consequences for the playerswho are forced into endless procedures in which they cannot get their payments, with little or no chance of getting any compensation, he said.

He also stated that andn the second league in Greece, clubs often close without paying their debts and that in the last two years the largest number of footballers who have tried to obtain part of their unpaid wages from the FIFA Player Protection Fund come from Greece.

non-payment of wages it is also a recurring problem for players from Algeria, China and Saudi Arabiawhile in Libya FIFPro expressed its concern about the growing number of foreign soccer players who cannot leave the country, because the clubs that employ them refuse to provide them with the relevant documentation to do so.
