FIFA sanctions Croatia, Serbia and Saudi Arabia

DOHA, 7 Dic. (DPA/EUROPA PRESS) –

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided this Wednesday to penalize the Croatian federations for insulting the Canadian goalkeeper by some of their fans, Serbia for displaying a Kosovo flag in the locker room, and Saudi Arabia for the number of yellow cards received, during their matches corresponding to the World Cup in Qatar 2022.

Thus, the Croats will have to pay an amount of 50,000 Swiss francs (50,600 euros) after some of the fans of the world runner-ups denigrated the Serbian goalkeeper, Milan Borjan, during the match between Zlatko Dalic’s team against Canada , on the second day of the group stage.

In addition, Serbia will have to pay a fine of 20,000 Swiss francs, after hanging in the locker room, prior to the match against Brazil, a flag with the silhouette of Kosovo in Serbian colors and the message “Never give up”, which was also published in social networks. While the Saudi association will pay 15,000 Swiss francs for the misconduct of its team, after receiving six yellow cards each in the duels against Argentina and Mexico.
