The Italian team Ferrari has denied on Tuesday the rumors about a future departure of the team manager, Mattia Binotto, after some information that, according to the team, “is totally unfounded”.
“In relation to the speculation of certain media about the position of the head of the team of the Ferrari team, Mattia Binotto, Ferrari affirms that these rumors are completely without foundation,” said the Italian factory in a brief statement shared on the social network Twitter.
This same Tuesday, the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport affirmed that Binotto, highly criticized this season, would no longer be the head of the historic team next year, making way for the Frenchman Frederic Vasseur, Alfa Romeo’s ‘main team’. The publication assured that the change would take place from next January. “Vasseur was already sounded out last summer by the president of Ferrari, John Elkann, when from Maranello they were evaluating an alternative to Binotto,” the transalpine media reported.
Binotto joined Ferrari in 1995, being part of the team that achieved great success in the 2000s. Since 2019 he has held the position of team principal, replacing Maurizio Arrivabene.
