Ferran Torres and Savic, sanctioned for two games

MADRID, 11 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) sanctioned FC Barcelona striker Ferran Torres and Atlético de Madrid defender Stefan Savic with two matches for their attempted fight last Sunday during the duel between their teams at the Metropolitan Civitas.

In the final stages of the match and after a game, both players got into a fight on the pitch, which caused them to be sent off for a red card by referee José Luis Munuera Montero, who immediately wrote that the Montenegrin held “by the neck with his arm to an adversary with excessive force continuously” and that the Valencian grabbed “persistently by the hair” to the central defender.

FC Barcelona presented allegations to this expulsion, assuring that what was described by the referee did not correspond to what “in reality” happened and that it was taken into account that the action took place “in the dispute for the ball”.

However, in its resolution, Competition stressed that the images provided by the club “do not contradict the referee’s assessment” and that “they show how the expelled player displays the conduct that determines the referee’s decision”, so there would be no “manifest material error”. ” by Munuera Montero, because he considers the sanction of two games “adequate”.

In this way, while waiting for FC Barcelona to go to the Appeals Committee, Ferran Torres would miss the LaLiga Santander matches against Getafe and Girona, for which the Polish Robert Lewandowski will not be there either. Savic will not be able to be under the command of Diego Pablo Simeone against Almería and Valladolid.
