The Brazilian midfielder Fernando Reges is out at the last minute at Sevilla FC for the European Super Cup match against Manchester City, this Wednesday (9:00 p.m.) at the Georgios Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens (Greece), due to a viral infection and a gastroenteritis, according to a statement.
“Fernando Reges, Sevilla FC midfielder, has caused a last-minute withdrawal from the expedition that leaves for Athens this Tuesday morning to face Manchester City in the European Super Cup,” the Nervión team advanced on their website.
The veteran player has a viral picture and gastroenteritis, so his presence in the clash against Pep Guardiola’s City to fight for the first European title of the course “is practically ruled out.” However, the club warned that Reges “could travel tomorrow to play the match.”
Sevilla’s coach, José Luis Mendilibar, called up 25 footballers for the European Super Cup in Athens, with defenders Marcao and Tanguy Nianzou missing.
