MADRID, 14 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The swimmer Fernando Díaz del Río won his second silver medal this Sunday, and the third for Spanish artistic swimming at the European Championships, in the discipline of ‘Solo Libre’, after hanging the same medal this Friday in ‘Solo Técnico’, a test that premiered this year at the appointment in Rome, venue of the contest.
Díaz del Río, 19, got a total score of 83.3333, and was only surpassed by local swimmer Giorgio Minisini, who also beat the Spaniard last Friday and this time raised the count to 88.4667. The bronze went to Frenchman Quentin Rakotomalala, with 78,000 points.
The young Canarian, who defended his technical routine with ‘The Wolfman’, by Dany Elfman, jumped into the pool with energy and conviction and donned his second metal from the continental championships.
“I am very happy with the score received, I think the judges have given us a very good rating. I have felt very comfortable swimming and the sensations have been very good. My choreography is a werewolf with strength, energy and a focus if anything more manly for routines that are usually more feminine. I’m going home with a great taste in my mouth and wanting to enjoy the holidays”, explained Fernando after getting on the podium.
