HM King Felipe VI received the Real Madrid basketball team this Monday at the Palacio de la Zarzuela to personally congratulate them on the conquest of the Euroleague on May 21, their eleventh European Cup, by defeating the Greek Olympiacos in Kaunas by 78- 79.
As indicated by the Madrid team on its website, the club’s president, Florentino Pérez, led the delegation along with the players, coaching staff and members of the Board of Directors, who posed with the monarch and the trophy.
In addition, the squad gave Don Felipe a personalized shirt with the name of Felipe VI and a replica of the Euroleague in an act that was also attended by José Manuel Franco, president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD).
