Feijóo recovers alongside Eva Cárdenas after retinal detachment surgery in the midst of Hurricane Puigdemont

The indignity is the Government’s, but not Spain’s or the Spanish people’s. We are going to recover everything that is being taken from us,” wrote the leader of the Popular Party on Thursday.

This Friday, 24 hours after what happened, he also expressed on X, the old Twitter: “What happened yesterday is unspeakable and cannot go unpunished. I request the urgent appearance of Sánchez and the immediate dismissal of Marlaska and Robles for the negligence of the police operation and CNI. Faced with this farce, the Government cannot continue on vacation laughing at the Spanish people.”

While he continues to follow the political news, the leader of the Popular Party, who turns 63 in September, is recovering from an operation for retinal detachment. It was last Wednesday, July 31, when the Galician politician underwent surgery for this ailment.

A few hours later, his party announced this “minor medical intervention”, assuring that he remained “in contact with his team and fully operational”. After a few days of recovery, during this month of August he will combine rest and relaxation with his public agenda. During these days he has also been very attentive to the achievements of Spanish athletes at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, publishing messages about it on social media.
