Fede Valverde apologizes after a misunderstanding with the president of Uruguay

The midfielder of Real Madrid, Fede Valverdeexperienced an unpleasant episode during his last call with Uruguay in which he received a great deal of criticism for, according to public opinion, ‘running away’ from a photo with the president of the Republic of Uruguay.

And it is that the controversy was formed at the moment in which the whole team meets with Godinbeing honored, the flag of the country and the President of the Republic and the Real Madrid player crouch down adjusting his stockings, thus leaving him out of the image and this being understood as a lack of respect for the president.

Thus, after several days of criticism and rumours, the player himself wanted to use his social networks to express his apologies to those who had felt offended and try to explain the reason for his actions.

This has been his message: “I have not come out to speak before because I considered that I did not have to explain my actions on a soccer field, but after several days where I received a lot of criticism, I feel the obligation to sit down and write, almost with tears in the eyes.

I was always a low profile guy. I have never raised my voice and I have never had a problem with anyone. Whenever I can, I try to go unnoticed, simply for one reason: I only live for and for football.

This time, football played a trick on me. It is true that he was stretching. It’s true that I adjusted my stockings, but it’s also true that I wasn’t paying attention at the time the photo was taken. I was into the game and my head just wanted to play ball.

I left Uruguay as a child, but never forget where I was born. I love my country and for that I know they deserve my apologies.

Sorry. Sorry to those who believe that I disrespect the President. Sorry to those who think I disrespect the National Pavilion. Sorry to those who felt offended and think that I take sides with a political position.

It may not be the way you expect me to defend a country, but I don’t know how to do it any other way than with the ball at my feet.

Sorry and thank you.

He ended up saying ‘El Pajarito’ that ended the season in a bittersweet way and wanted to go out and explain his vision of the events that took place.
