MADRID, 25 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
FC Barcelona will start the defense of its women’s League F title by receiving a visit from Valencia, while Real Madrid will also start at home against Betis, according to the draw for the 2023-2024 season held at the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
The ‘innocent hands’ of Xenia Pérez, from Atlético de Madrid, Cristina Librán, from Madrid CFF, and the collegiate Elia Martínez were in charge of randomly choosing the numbers that would determine the official calendar from all the 99,999 possible combinations.
The resulting number was 36,949, which arranged a first day where Barça and Real Madrid will open before their fans against Valencia and Betis respectively, and an attractive duel between Real Sociedad and Levante, third-placed last season.
Atlético de Madrid will make their debut by visiting former player Virginia Torrecilla’s Villarreal, while the two recently promoted to League F, SD Eibar and Granada, will face Madrid CFF and Athletic Club, respectively.
As for the duels between the blaugrana and madridistas, the first will be on the weekend of November 18-19 in Barcelona, on matchday 9 of the championship, and the return in Madrid, on March 23-24, on matchday 21. Atlético will host FC Barcelona on matchday five (October 14-15) and will visit them on the eighteenth matchday (February 17-18), and will have their derbies against Real Madrid in the days 14 (January 20-21) and 27 (May 11-12).
The F League will start on the weekend of September 9 and 10 and end on June 16, 2024, with the Women’s Super Cup between January 16 and 21, 2024, and the final of the Queen’s Cup scheduled for Saturday, May 18.
