Inspired by the ‘Volem la Pilota’ manifesto, Barceló joins other artists who have created commemorative works for Barça anniversaries, such as Josep Sagrelles (25th anniversary), Sebastián Rey Padilla (50th anniversary), Joan Miró (75th anniversary) and Antoni Tàpies, creator of the centenary poster in 1999.
The poster, where the figure of a player dressed in Barça colors appears, represents, according to the artist, “the club’s own game system.” Inside, the player includes many other human figures, an entire team, with its starters and substitutes. This soccer player is also presented in a dynamic way and decorated with various plant, mineral and animal figures, especially marine, which are also elements that can be connected with soccer.
The presentation of the poster, in which Barceló was accompanied by the club president, Joan Laporta, and the 125th anniversary commissioner, David Carabén, took place during the first episode of ‘La Llotja del 125’, the new Barça One video podcast , hosted by Andreu Juanola and Sara Loscos. In this first episode, in addition to discovering Miquel Barceló’s poster, we wanted to preview what will be some of the main events of the 125th anniversary celebration, where the institutional events and events aimed at the members of FC Barcelona stand out. .
In addition, Barça and TV3 will begin the final phase of the search for ‘El nou Clam’, the song celebrating the club’s 125th anniversary, on October 24.
