FC Barcelona fires Paco Seirul.lo

The FC Barcelona has decided to fire Paco Seirul.loemblematic employee linked to the club for 46 years. Tot Costa, from Catalunya Ràdiobroke the news that Seirul.lo, Director of the Methodology Area during his last stage, he leaves the entity almost five decades after his arrival.

It was Raphael Yustevice-president of the sports area of ​​FC Barcelona, ​​who was in charge of notifying Seirul.lo of his withdrawal, citing “strictly” economic reasons as the reason.

Seirul lo was the only member of the ‘Dream Team’ to win the first European Cup for Barça, passing through various positions throughout his long and successful career and being widely remembered for his innovative contribution to the physical preparation of the professional teams.

Already during the previous summer, FC Barcelona dispensed with five of the six members of the methodology area. Now it is Seirul lo’s turn, who will not extend his professional relationship with the club beyond June 30, the date on which his contract that was renewed annually expires.

Born in 1945, he graduated in Fiscal Education in 1972 and taught at different schools and universities, beginning to work as a national athletics coach in 1975 and a year later as a full professor at the INEF of the University of Barcelona. In 1978 he began to collaborate with FC Barcelona, ​​beginning as coach of the club’s athletics teams and, from 1982, working as a physical trainer for the handball team, with Valero Rivera as a coach. In the 90’s he was already working with Johan Cruyff in the football first team and was appointed head of the club’s physical trainers. After 46 years at the service of the entity, Seirul.lo will leave Barça.
