The Polish, with Alfa Romeo, was the fastest with soft, beating Verstappen. Vettel spin and Ferrari problems
Robert Kubica (Alfa Romeo) was the fastest in the resumption of the official pre-season tests of Formula 1 at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with a 1: 16.942 with which he remembers his best moments.
Despite being pre-season and achieving that great time with the fastest tire, Kubica takes the joy of beating Max Verstappen (Red Bull Racing) in 405 thousandths and a Sergio Prez (Racing Point), confirming the good work of his team, in 486 thousandths.
The AlphaTauri of Daniil Kvyat and Pierre Gasly, who split the day, completed a 'Top 5' of which Alex Albon (Red Bull), the current champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Lance Stroll (Racing Point), Valtteri were left out Bottas (Mercedes) and Sebastian Vettel (Ferrari), who sealed the 'Top 10' in that order.
Ferrari continues to have problems and the German tops are a new example. They find no rhythm, or are not able to align the pieces to do so. There is room for margin, but for now they are far from Mercedes and it seems that the Red Bulls threaten to hunt them down.
Sainz, faster than Norris
It didn't go as well as last week to Carlos Sainz (McLaren), who with his MCL35 finished twelfth, with 46 laps to his credit, although being much faster than his partner Lando Norris, 17.
The day, quite quiet, had to end early because both Max Verstappen, who already had tops before, as Daniil Kvyat they had problems in their cars, which stopped on the track and gave rise to a red flag that ended up being the one with pictures.
