Extremadura confirms that there will be an audience in its promotion Playoff

The Extremadura Soccer Federation has issued an official statement in which it reports that its Playoff for promotion to Second Division B will have an audience (July 18, 19 and 25). Non-professional sport competition corresponds to the Autonomous Communities and not to the Higher Sports CouncilTherefore, except for the imposition of closed doors, the fans may enter the Roman Stadium in Mérida to encourage their teams in search of a place in the higher category.

This was announced by the FEX: “After the authorization of the authorities for the entry of fans to the stadiums published last Sunday in the Official Journal of Extremadura, with a limitation of 50 percent of the capacity, The Extremadura Football Federation held a meeting on Tuesday with the four participating clubs in the Play-Off promotion to Second Division B to be held at the Romano Stadium in Mérida, in order to address the distribution of these tickets and the conditions of access to the stadium. “

However, a series of security measures must be respected. The Extremadura Federation has confirmed that it will distribute 1,800 tickets for each club (Villanovense, Coria, Cacereño and Extremadura B), for a total of 7,200 spectators. The price of the same will be ten euros per locality and it will be the responsibility of the clubs how they will distribute them among their fans. Obviously, for reasons of prevention, the box office of the stadium itself will be disabled.

Of course, inside the Roman Stadium the safety distance must be maintained, either during the game or on the approaches to it. The use of masks will also be mandatory. Despite this, it is surprising that the first fan to enter a soccer field will do so in a Third Division field. Professional football continues to be the responsibility of the Higher Sports Council, which, for the moment, refuses to admit fans for avoiding possible outbreaks..

It should be remembered that four Aragonese towns have had to return to phase 2, due to outbreaks of contagion. In more Autonomous Communities (Catalonia, Andalusia, Valencian Community …) work is done on isolating possible infections to try not to take steps back. Given this circumstance, until today the next return of fans to the stadiums was not considered. Extremadura has opened the ban and other territories could follow suit.
