MADRID, 21 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Everton have condemned the “despicable” racist insults directed at midfielder Amadou Onana on social media following the team’s 4-0 defeat by Aston Villa on matchday two of the Premier League and have vowed to track down the alleged perpetrator, according to a statement.

“Everton strongly condemns any form of racist and discriminatory abuse against our players. The club is aware of a racist message directed at Amadou Onana. Such abuse is despicable and will not and must not be tolerated,” the club stated.

The ‘Toffees’ assured that they are trying to identify the alleged perpetrator and “will support the police” in any investigation that they carry out.

Racism has no place on the Internet, in our stadiums or in our communities,” the entity’s statement stressed, after the insults received by Onana on the networks after the team’s defeat (4-0) against Aston Villa on the second day of the Premier.
