Europa League draw: teams, rules, format and what it will be like

The Europa League returns next August, but to warm the mouth comes the draw for the next phases. Despite the fact that there are knockout stages that have not been completed or started, such as Sevilla-Roma or Inter-Getafe, UEFA will draw the draw for the quarter-final matches. It will be an unusual draw since none of the teams that will play the penultimate round of the European competition will be known.

Which teams will be in the Europa League draw?

As we have previously commented, the teams that have passed the round of 16 are not known, since the pandemic stopped the competition in the middle of said round of 16. Therefore, the drums will consist of balls containing each of the eighth pairings. So these are the teams:

İstanbul Başakşehir / Copenhagen
Olympiacos / Wolves
Rangers / Leverkusen
Wolfsburg / Shakhtar Donetsk
Inter Milan / Getafe
Seville / Rome
Eintracht Frankfurt / Basel
LASK / Manchester United

When and what format will the Europa League draw have?

The quarterfinal pairings will be established on Friday, July 10 at 1:00 p.m. The draw will take place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

The draw will not have conditioning factors for series or country protection. In other words, they can all face each other. In the same way, UEFA reserves possible conditions that it would announce before the draw.

Where and when will the Europa League quarterfinals be played?

Due to the pandemic that has plagued everyone, UEFA established that the quarterfinal, semifinal and final matches will be played in Germany. So the final will be played at the Stadion Köln in Cologne with the MSV Arena in Duisburg, Dusseldorf Arena in Düsseldorf and the AufSchalke Arena in Gelsenkirchen, the stadiums chosen to play the crossings.

The action will return next August 6/7 with the round of 16 remaining to be disputed. The quarterfinals will be played on August 10/11; the semifinals on August 16/17; and the final, on August 21 at 9:00 p.m.
