Euroleague studies a “potential collaboration” with the United Arab Emirates

MADRID, 12 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Euroleague confirmed on Wednesday that it is studying a “potential collaboration” with the United Arab Emirates, but also admitted that “it is still too early to address the details” of this alliance.

The body wanted to keep up with the latest information in the media that indicated that it would be weighing the possibility of taking the ‘Final Four’ to Dubai or the participation of a team from the country in the maximum continental competition as a way to extend your field of business.

In fact, the Euroleague was in Dubai these days, but clarified, in a statement on behalf of its new CEO, Marshall Glickman, that “the purpose of the visit was to exchange ideas and identify opportunities for potential collaboration.”

“Of course, we are excited about the potential of the EuroLeague in the United Arab Emirates, but it is too early to address the details. We are looking forward to continuing the conversation.”

The EuroLeague thanked Abdulla Al Naboodah, President and Owner of the Dubai Basketball Club, and representatives from the City of Dubai and ASM Global “for hosting the league and the 13 shareholder clubs in the magnificent Coca-Cola Arena.”
