Eszena dancers participate in the Youth America Grand Prix in Barcelona

MADRID, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The dancers of Eszena Danza, the new Authorized Professional Center for Classical Ballet and Spanish Dance in San Sebastián de los Reyes (Madrid), will participate, for the third consecutive year, in the next edition of the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), which celebrates its 25th anniversary and will take place from December 6 to 10 in Barcelona.

This international championship is the European phase that gives way to regional auditions in the United States and around the world to culminate in April with the final round of selections in New York.

In this edition, 8 students between the ages of 11 and 16 will perform, performing solos in classical and contemporary dance. “They have been working since the summer for more than four hours a day which, with great effort, they make compatible with their studies. They are children who have experienced dance since they were little and it is noticeable in each of their performances. Their artistic aptitudes lead them to a physical discipline and mental experience full of personal and academic benefits,” said Elena Jiménez, director of Eszena Danza.

Last season, between February and June, this school participated with more than 40 students in 5 major competitions: Vaslav Nijinsky (Huesca), the Ciudad de Torrelavega International Dance Competition, the Dance World Cup Spain in Burgos, the National Championship of Danzas Angel Martínez in Talavera de la Reina and Global Dance Open Spain in Mérida.

In them, students competed with solo dancers, duos, trios and group choreographies in Classical Ballet and Spanish Dance. Almost 40 dancers have represented this school, giving visibility to a total of 400 people who make up the Eszena Danza family, including students and teachers.

“We are training the next generation of professional dancers in Spain and we see that there is a lot of talent in our classrooms. So much so that last year we got very special cases like that of Isabela Ventura who, at just 12 years old, was already world champion of Neoclassical Dance at the 2022 Dance World Cup Spain and at the age of 13 she revalidated the title of world champion in Neoclassical Dance at the Global Dance Open,” said Jiménez.

For her part, Adela Barbón was in the world’s top ten in Classical Ballet in the 2022 DWC final and won the gold medal in Spanish Dance at this year’s IX Vaslav Nijinsky City of Huesca Dance Competition with the participation of more than three hundred dancers from different Spanish locations.

“Claudia Guerrero (13) was national champion of Spanish Dance at DWC Spain 2023 and was among the TOP 10 in the world in Classical Ballet in the final of DWC 2023, but the greatest was, without a doubt, that of Sara Estades who with 15 years he got a stay at the National Ballet of Spain,” added the director.
