Javier Guillén: “Thanks to these two monsters and to Barcelona we have made the song of the summer”
BARCELONA, 29 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The official spot of the tune of La Vuelta 23, with the song ‘Corazón sin salida’ by Estopa, starts up once it has been presented this Thursday in Room B – Luz de Gas in Barcelona, the city that will host the August the departure of La Vuelta and that stars in the images of the video clip, which will be “the song of the summer” as predicted by the general director of Unipublic and the Spanish round, Javier Guillén.
The brothers David and José Muñoz, the Estopa, asked as soon as it became official that they would be the protagonists of the official song of La Vuelta that it pass through their native Cornellà. And so it will be, with a flying goal in his municipality during the second stage, ending in Barcelona. And the Catalan capital is more of a protagonist as it is the focus of the video clip but, above all, for hosting the first stage, an individual time trial.
All this has inspired Estopa, RTVE and Unipublic to record a spot that makes Barcelona shine and where the Estopa had a great time. “This year two consolidated brands, Barcelona and La Vuelta, come together with another great consolidated brand like Estopa. With these three ingredients only a great appetizer can come out,” said Arseni Cañada, RTVE sports director.
For his part, the director of La Vuelta, Javier Guillén, assured that they joined Barcelona to be with “the best” partners and, therefore, he was delighted to have Estopa. “We had to be with the best group we have, Estopa, who is a great ambassador of what Barcelona is for me, cycling and cultural richness. I love Barcelona, La Vuelta is in Barcelona. With this video clip, thanks to these two monsters and Barcelona, we have made the song of the summer”, Guillén savored.
Who made it possible for Estopa to be the group that tunes La Vuelta 23? Well, the Barcelona City Councilor for Sports, David Escudé. “I thought it was impossible for Estopa to tune in. David Escudé made the approach,” Guillén said. And David Muñoz, singer of Estopa, confirms it.
“David Escudé approached me in a Barça match, he told me that he represented the Barcelona City Council and he proposed that we be a song for La Vuelta. For us it is a milestone, we are very fans of cycling and that they proposed this to us, it is to give Thank you,” said the singer.
His brother José, a guitarist, also reiterated that they have been lovers of La Vuelta since they have “use of reason.” “Our father in the bar put La Vuelta. We have always vibrated it a lot, and that they proposed that we be the tune was a ‘rush’ for us,” he said.
For Estopa, his song ‘Corazón sin salida’ is a bit like the ‘I’m going crazy’ of yesteryear, a song that marked an era in La Vuelta. “The heart goes out, like that of cyclists, and then there is the spirit of arriving, of making the way. It is a song not made for La Vuelta, but it has all the ingredients to be a cycling song and La Vuelta. As soon as we They said it, that we chose one, we chose this one,” said David.
For his part, David Escudé celebrated once again that Barcelona is leaving La Vuelta and that his idea of signing the Estopa came to fruition. By the way, the Port of Barcelona will host the departure of the initial CRI. “After 65 years without Barcelona being the starting point, we wanted everything to be special. And it made perfect sense that the Estopas were the authors of the tune. Barcelona is back. Unique spaces come out, such as the space on the coast of the ‘blue pavilion ‘Barcelona wants to be number 1 in Spain and in the world and we are working on it,” said Escudé.
