Esther González: “The one in Japan is not a definitive match, but we always go out to win”

MADRID, 30 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish international soccer player Esther González commented this Sunday that her next duel against the Japanese team “is not a definitive match” for her future in Group C, but specifying that she and her teammates “always” go out “to win” in each commitment to the World Cup, which is taking place in Australia and New Zealand.

“We are very focused on what we want, where we want to go and, as Jorge [Vilda]now thinking about Japan, that it is not a definitive game, but in which we really always come out to win”, said González during a press conference from Wellington, accompanied by the coach.

“It’s going to be the most difficult match in this group stage, but I also think that’s where we want to get to. It’s where we want to push ourselves, know where we’re working, know what our strengths are and try to minimize our weaknesses,” said the Spanish striker. .

In this sense, González warned of the danger of Japanese soccer players. “We understand that tomorrow’s game will be a demanding game and in which we are going to have to demand ourselves. We are looking forward to it and we are prepared to face it,” he said in this regard.

“We’re following the World Cup a lot. Football is there at almost every dinner and snack. I think it’s also part of the moment to be focused, to see what other teams are doing. Sometimes, even when you’re watching the games, there’s things that you do or things that you value. But well, we know that there is a lot of level and that they are going to put the whole world in quite difficult things”, he stressed.

Lastly, he praised his partner Alba Redondo. “She is at an incredible level and playing with her is a pleasure because of the connection we had at Levante. You are always comfortable with each player because each one brings you something different. Both with Alba and with the rest we are very close”, concluded González .
