Espanyol and Deportivo de La Coruña win the first round of the Queen’s Cup by the minimum

12 away wins in the 16 single-match matches played

MADRID, 12 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

RCD Espanyol and RC Deportivo de La Coruña, clubs that play in Liga F, advanced on Wednesday to the first round of the Copa de la Reina thanks to their narrow victories, respectively, against CE Europa (1-0) and against Atlético Villalonga (0-1).

Along with Pericas and Deportivo, 30 other teams from the First Iberdrola Federation and the Second Federation also entered the competition in this round. The day before, CF Cacereño had beaten CFF Albacete 0-7 and Guiniguada Apolinario had defeated Unión Viera 1-3, being the first to qualify for the second round.

And on Wednesday the rest of the matches were played, full of derbies due to geographical proximity and with more equality in the results, except for the 0-7 achieved by Alba Fundación during their visit to Quesos La Casota FF La Solana. Thus, Rayo Vallecano vs CD Getafe (2-3) and Balears FC vs Secció Esportiva AEM (3-4) were resolved by penalties.

The highlights were the victories of CA Osasuna in their visit to Racing de Santander by 0-2, of Córdoba CF against Málaga CF by 2-1 and of Deportivo Alavés at home against Bizkerre FT by 0-4, as well as that of Real Sporting de Gijón also away from home and against ‘neighbour’ Real Oviedo by a large 2-4.

The two highlights of the evening were at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque and at the Novo San Pedro in Sanxenxo, where Espanyol and Dépor ABANCA appeared on the scene respectively. The perico team suffered until the 86th minute, when Arola Aparicio won the byline on the right wing and crossed low into the rival area; there, with her right foot, the Dutchwoman Isabelle Hoekstra sent the ball into the back of the net.

For their part, Dépor beat Atlético Villalonga, also with suffering and by the minimum. Millene Cabral, in the 90+5′, scored a header and gave the team from Coruña a ticket to the next round. Also in the round will be DUX Logroño, Alhama ElPozo, Zaragoza CFF, Femarguín SPAR Gran Canaria and CD Tenerife.
