Escobar: “You have to be calm, I'm sure we will come out of the bottom”

Fidel Escobar, Panamanian international defense of the Alcorcón, declared this Wednesday that, despite the delicate sporting situation they are going through, they must “be calm and not look at the classification” because they will go ahead and achieve permanence.

Fidel Escobar celebrates its first season in the Alcorcón, which he arrived in July 2020 from the Sporting 89 San Miguelito from Panama. His arrival was a bet of the pottery sports direction, which signed him until 2023.

“I had several offers, but what determined me to sign for Alcorcón was the great interest shown by the club and the sports director Emilio Vega. It was the club that was most serious and I had no doubts. They trusted me, they opened up to me. the door of his house and I am very happy to be here and leave everything for the team, “said Escobar, in an interview released by the club.

In the Madrid team, Escobar has found “a great family and great teammates.”

“The workers are very close. Alcorcón is a very fighting club, just as they had described it to me, and I will always be grateful,” he confessed.

On a sporting level, Alcorcón has been in the lower zone of the classification all season and, with 32 points, it is one of the many teams fighting for salvation in this final stretch of the campaign.

“We know that, until the end, it will be very complicated, but we are sure that we are going to get out of there. There are still two very difficult months for everyone but we must have a cool head, a warm heart and be focused. calm down and not think about qualifying because I know we will go out, “he said.

So far, Escobar has played 15 league games, eleven as a starter, and has 1,043 minutes of competition.

“Wherever the coach puts me, I will do everything in my power for the good of the team. There is still time to finish the competition and I know that I will go to more. Play more or play less I am calm and focused on supporting the team in everything because here we all row in the same direction, “he said.

Escobar has been an absolute international on 43 occasions and in 2018 he played the World Cup in Russia with the Panamanian team.

“It is a very beautiful and incredible experience that every player wants. Representing your country is something wonderful, you feel the affection of the people and your compatriots wherever you are and that fills you with pride and satisfaction. It is an honor to wear the jersey of Panama, “he concluded.
