“The team is mentally and physically prepared to get the three points”
BARCELONA, 1 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
FC Barcelona player Eric Garcia has acknowledged that there have been games in which he could have played better but is “calm” about his performance and, facing the important match against Dinamo Kiev in the Champions League, he has assured that they are prepared to win.
“I am the first to be self-critical. I have very confident people by my side who are also demanding of me. There have been games in which I was able to do better, but we have to keep working. I am very calm and confident,” he said at the wheel of press.
The Martorell center-back, a youth squad of the Blaugrana club, assured that if he ends up becoming the leader of the defense, it will be a natural matter that the passing of the seasons will tell. “I hope I can spend many years at Barça, being a leader is something that comes naturally,” he acknowledged.
“When I made the decision to come here I was very convinced and today I would have made the same decision. The results are not being what we wanted but there is a long season ahead. Tomorrow is very important,” he said.
Looking back, he recognized that he has gone from less to more. “The beginning was more complicated, but lately I feel good. I am happy and grateful for the confidence. I have had moments of uncertainty, but I am more and more comfortable. I am eager to add games,” he stressed.
For now, the present is to win in Kiev at Dinamo and continue with options to go to the knockout rounds. “We all know how important tomorrow’s game is, we know how difficult it will be because of the weather, rival … But the team is mentally and physically prepared to get the three points,” he said.
“The team is doing well. The results give you confidence and we are at a time when we are not getting what we want. We have a spectacular group and the brushstrokes that Sergi has given us are helping us. Keeping a clean sheet is important”, commented.
