Enrique Cerezo: “We are not an easy team, but they all have a lot of experience in the Champions League”

MADRID, 18 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of Atlético de Madrid, Enrique Cerezo, affirmed this Friday that the rojiblancos will not be “an easy team” in the future matchup for the quarterfinals of the Champions League, in a draw where there will be “big” clubs, “with a lot of experience” in the competition.

“We are not an easy team, but all those who are in the hype are important teams, they are great teams with a lot of experience in the Champions League,” said Cerezo after the presentation of the rugby match between the Spanish team and the Classic All Blacks that took place will play at the Wanda Metropolitano on May 21.

The president of the Madrid club did not confess any preference for the draw for the quarterfinals of the highest European competition. “The best is the one that touches us, because you can ask but if they don’t give it to you… Well, the one that touches us. We don’t have any problem with any of them, we’ve played with all of them and I think they will be good quarter-finals,” he predicted.

Although Cerezo did support a few words from the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, assuring that he wants Villarreal it would be a good option. “The mayor is right… But let’s see who gets us, they are going to be very fun and exciting rooms,” he said.

“If Madrid touches us, we will win the game and try to qualify for the semifinals,” he insisted on a possible clash with the rojiblancos’ neighbors in the capital.

Finally, Cerezo did not comment on El Clásico between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona this Sunday (9:00 p.m.). “The problem we have is playing on Saturday against Rayo Vallecano. And there we will try to win, the rest is not our problem at the moment,” he concluded regarding the transcendental match in Vallecas.
