Enes Unal missed his first penalty as blanquivioleta

The great game that Real Valladolid played against Levante, especially in the second half, was not rewarded with the victory that Enes Unal had at his feet. The Turkish player, one of those who better adapted to this new footballing normality, missed his first penalty as a blanquivioleta in two seasons. Previously he had thrown five with full hits, but in front of Aitor the shot of the pucelano striker, in the middle he found the foot of the Basque goalkeeper who had thrown to his left, but who released his foot to stop the shot.

Enes Unal scored six goals last season (2018-19) and after scoring three goals he assumed responsibility for shooting from eleven meters after several teammates failed on several occasions. On April 14 of last year he grabbed the ball to convert against Getafe (2-2) and five days later he repeated in Mendizorroza (2-2) being the penalty man of the blanquivioleta team, which led him to take responsibility on the penultimate day, against Rayo Vallecano in Vallecas (1-2). Of the nine penalty kicks, Unal scored the three he threw, Verde, one, but Alcaraz failed, twice Míchel, another Cop and another Guardiola.

It seemed that the Turk had taken over from great blanquivioletas pitchers such as Víctor Fernández or Jaime Mata. This season he had already converted two. He opened his scoring account in November, against Mallorca in Zorrilla (3-0), converted four more goals, in the League, in play, and in the duel against Getafe last week he converted the goal of the tie, in a maximum penalty that he himself provoked in a struggle with Djené. This season Míchel and Sandro also shot from 11 meters since the Turk was not on the field. The Valencian was right, the canary failed.

Therefore, when Enes Unal took the ball yesterday to launch, there was no doubt in the team. He is the most reliable player, but Aitor, who said this morning that he was convinced he would stop him, won the duel, breaking the Turk's streak. That will not cause the team to change pitchers as Hervías said this morning, also appealing to his flats to take responsibility.
