Emma Raducanu's emotional letter after her strange abandonment at Wimbledon

The British Emma Raducanu has been one of the great revelations of the women's team at this edition of Wimbledon. However, the adventure of the 18-year-old tennis player did not have a happy ending after her abrupt retirement during her quarter-final match against Ajla Tomljanovic due to respiratory problems.

Already recovered from the shock suffered during his match against Tomljanovic, which also earned him criticism from the controversial John McEnroe, Raducanu published an emotional letter on his social networks on Tuesday to tell what happened. “Hello everyone! I want you to know that I feel much better this morning. First of all I want to congratulate Ajla on her incredible performance and I am sorry that the game ended that way. I was playing the best tennis of my life in front of an incredible crowd this week and I think the whole experience caught up with me. “

Raducanu confessed that, after the first set, he began to have trouble breathing and suffer from dizziness and that he followed the recommendations of the Wimbledon doctors. “At the end of the first set, after several intense exchanges, I started to breathe deeply and felt dizzy. The medical team advised me not to continue playing. And even though I felt like the hardest thing in the world was that I couldn't finish Wimbledon on the track, I didn't feel good enough to do it. “

Finally Raducanu wanted to send a message of gratitude to all those who have supported him this week and is already excited about what his promising career can bring him. “I want to thank the people who have cheered me on in each game, I wanted to win for you! I also want to thank the All England Club, my team, the LTA, my parents and my friends. Last night has been a long road that has helped me learn how to improve to get to the top. I keep everything we have achieved together this week and we will come back stronger! I can't wait to see what's next on my way. “
