Emma García and Dennis González, world runners-up in mixed technical duet

The Spanish couple formed by Emma García and Dennis González won the silver medal this Sunday in the technical mixed duo event during the World Artistic Swimming Championships, which is being held in Fukuoka (Japan).

After having finished the day before in first place in the preliminary competition, where the Italians Giorgio Minisini –injured– and Lucrezia Ruggiero did not participate, the Spaniards achieved 248.0499 points in the final this Sunday to proclaim themselves new runners-up of the world.

With a degree of difficulty of 29.5500, García and González obtained 103.1000 points in artistic impression and 144.9499 points in execution. They were left behind on the podium by the Japanese Tomoka Sato and Yotaro Sato, who scored 255.5066 points with an exercise that had a degree of difficulty of 30.3000.

At a rate of 103.3000 points in artistic impression and 152.2066 points in execution, the Japanese won gold at home. The bronze went to the Chinese couple formed by Wentao Cheng and Haoyu Shi, creditors of 247.3033 points (98.0500 in artistic impression and 149.2533 in execution) after having risked an exercise of 30.8500 in difficulty.
