Emery grants a mini vacation to his players

Villarreal coach Unai Emery has granted three days off for his players, recognizing that they need to disconnect and regain strength after the effort made in these months of competition.

The coach assured after Tuesday's game against Athletic that in these next few days they must “rest and disconnect to gain strength for the next game”, admitting that they have “a high accumulation of minutes and efforts”.

With this, the team will not return to training until next Saturday, December 26 at 5:00 p.m., which means three and a half days of rest before starting to prepare for the game in Seville on Tuesday, December 29.

It should be noted that Villarreal has accumulated in this period of competition a total of twenty-one official matches, in which they have played fifteen league matches, five in the Europa League and one in the Copa del Rey, in just one hundred days, which is on average one game every five days.

Given this effort, Emery reiterated that “it is important to rest now, we have a few days to be able to do it and, to be able to disconnect, waiting for the match with Sevilla to arrive. We have three days in which we must rest, as a tough calendar is coming, a good mini vacation for the players to gain strength ”.
