Elvira Andrés, new director of the RFEF Presidency Cabinet

MADRID, 7 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The lawyer Elvira Andrés Monte has been appointed this Thursday as the new director of the Presidency Cabinet of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), an entity where she has served as vice president since 2020, and has replaced Chema Timón in her new position, who was one of the trusted men of deposed president Luis Rubiales.

This has been confirmed by the RFEF itself on its website. Graduated in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM), Elvira Andrés has extensive training and experience in sports law, as well as a professional career closely linked to the world of sports in the last 21 years.

“He has worked in entities such as the National Futsal League (2002-2004) or the Spanish Basketball Federation (2002-2018), having been responsible for the General Secretariat of the latter between 2004 and 2008. In addition, he was a member of the FIBA Europe Appeals Commission and has externally advised other sports organizations on compliance”, the RFEF highlighted in its press release.

Within the RFEF, Elvira Andrés has been responsible for Compliance (2018-2020); Head of the Integrity area (2020-2022); and vice president of the federal entity (from 2020 until this Thursday). “In recent times, after assuming the direction of Corporate Protection, her main projects have been linked to the protection of minors, being one of those responsible for the creation of the Protocol for the Protection of Children and Adolescents presented a few months ago”, specified the note.

“WE CANNOT GO BEHIND SOCIETY”

Elvira Andrés has advanced her intentions as head of the Cabinet of the Presidency, looking at a society that, in her own words, “transfers its demands for transparency and good governance to the institutions”. “Institutions cannot afford to go behind the public,” she explained in this regard.

“We must live up to these social needs in areas that are key: equality, sustainability, transparency… The RFEF is going to be a benchmark in these areas,” he stressed. “We must not lose a minute in getting down to work on this task”, concluded the new director of the Cabinet of the Presidency.
