Harvey Elliott is not in his prime. The Liverpool player has undergone surgery on Tuesday for the fractured left ankle he suffered on Sunday in the game against Leeds. And, although he has thanked on social networks for the support he has received from people, not everyone has encouraged him. One fan said on TikTok, referring to the midfielder, that he “doesn't walk like that anymore.” But Elliott hasn't let this mockery go by. “It's crazy to see that I have more legs than United trophies in the last eight years.”, the midfielder replied.
Following his response, the fans let Elliott know that if he meant that the club had not won a title in that time, he was wrong. Since 2013 Manchester United has achieved six trophies: League Cup, FA Cup, Premier League, Europa League and two Community Shields. Since 2017, the English club has not managed to win any title.
Elliott broke his left ankle after a good start to the season. Until the injury, the 18-year-old English midfielder had played all four Premier League games, three of them as a starter. The player was showing that the good season he had last year on loan at Blackburn (7 goals and 11 assists) was no accident.
However, the entry of Pascal Struijk, Leeds defender, will leave him off the pitch for several months. From the club they confirmed that there is no date set for his return, although they do hope that he can play again before the end of this season.
Both the club and the player confirmed that the operation was a success.
