Elizegi takes the budgets to the second

Athletic’s budget for this season has been approved in an extraordinary assembly by the rojiblanco club’s delegate members with 475 affirmative votes, 321 negative and 16 blank. 841 people have gathered at this meeting held at the Euskalduna Palace. The Covid fee, which from 120 euros has dropped to 85 in this second attempt, has once again attracted some criticism among attendees.

The budgets rejected in the general assembly held on October 23 in San Mamés amounted to 135.4 million in the income chapter and 140.8 in the expenditure chapter, which yielded a starting deficit of 5, 4 millions. The new proposal presented by the Elizegi board of directors rises to 135.9 million at the income level and is reduced to 140.3 at the expense level, leaving the red numbers at 4.4 million (one million less compared to the previous initiative as long as full capacity can be maintained in San Mamés throughout the new year).

The Bilbao club, on the other hand, has established a linear Covid quota of 85 euros for each member (the proposal in October was 120 euros) with a series of variables in the price of the annual card depending on the number of matches to which they has been assisted. The 4.4 million expected at the level of losses this year, as explained by the accountant, thus and all correspond to the Covid loss expected for this year.

Elizegi, who in the previous assembly made it clear that he does not intend to attend the elections to the Athletic presidency that will be held this summer, has been self-critical of his management and has warned of the difficulty of the times that run for the Bilbao club. “I still think that difficult times are coming. The rivals are accelerating in this project. This does not mean that I continue to believe blindly in this project, in this club and in what we can do in the future.”

The head of the Bilbao club has also stressed that “after this stage with errors and I hope that with some success, I hope we can help others in the next project. I have not reached consensus, I have not left the table, but I have not found the solutions “.
