Eldense gets promotion to First RFEF after beating Sestao River in extra time (0-1)

Eldense will play in the RFEF First Division next playoff season after winning the final against Sestao River, which ended 0-1 after extra time. During the semifinals of the playoffs for promotion to Primera RFEF, Sestao River beat Lleida Esportiu. For its part, Eldense was able to get Real Sociedad C out of the competition.

During the first half there were no goals from any of the players of each team, so the result remained 0-0 during the first 45 minutes.

Neither team was lucky in front of goal in the second half and therefore regulation time ended with the result 0-0.

Although the match ended 0-0, extra time was necessary as both teams were level on goals. Fortunately, in the first period of extra time the goal came for the Eldense eleven, who opened their scoring with a goal from Iván Forte in the 103rd minute, ending the first half with the score of 0-1.

Finally, in the second period of extra time, the score was not altered, so the match ended with the final result of 0-1.

The Sestao River coach gave entry to Baqué, Bravo, Juste, Unai Bujan, Pepe Blanco and Blanco for Garai, Goti, Dieng, Villar, Huete and Mateo, while Eldense gave the green light to Nacho Ramón, Iván Forte, Albert Ramis and Segura, who replaced Ángel Sánchez, Musa, Sabater and Nacho Ramón.

The referee showed four yellow cards to Sestao River (Garai, Gaizka Martínez, Goti and Mateo), while the visiting team saw none.

With this result, Eldense has managed to close its time in the First RFEF with a flourish. The players have not been promoted, but this victory makes them absolute champions of the league, as well as accessing a direct place in the second round of the Copa del Rey next year. For its part, the Sestao River, simply remains as a recently promoted team, which is another victory for the club.
