Elche denies racist insults to Vinicius at Martínez Valero

Elche has denied this Monday, through social networks, the accusation of an international media outlet (ESPN), which takes charge of some alleged statements by the Brazilian forward of Real Madrid, Vinicius Junior, in which he denounces racist insults supposedly during last Saturday’s game at the Martínez Valero (1-2).

The club assures on Twitter that the facts exposed by the aforementioned media are “totally false and have not happened in the Martínez Valero” and expects an “immediate rectification” by the chain. Vinicius Junior had an outstanding performance last Saturday, scoring both goals for his team, despite having a strong atmosphere against it, as he had to hear whistles from the stands during various phases of the match. The chain deleted the tweet shortly after Elche’s message.

The statements cited by Vinicius correspond to the match against Barcelona at the Camp Nou. The Brazilian, after being replaced, was rebuked by several followers and received some racist insults. LaLiga, in a statement, assured that it will denounce the events.

“I passed near the fans, I saw a child make a gesture to me but as he was a kid … but another did insult me and I pointed to him with a finger to let him know that I had seen him,” Vinicius said in an interview with TNT Sports Brazil.
