Elche suffered a tough defeat this Sunday (3-2) against Levante, when they were winning 0-2 at match time, on matchday 32 of LaLiga Hypermotion, while Eibar also fell against Real Valladolid (3-1 ), both failing to the direct ascent zone.
After four victories in a row and the fifth in the pocket at the Ciudad de Valencia, the team from Elche fell apart in the last half hour, from a penalty that Adrián de la Fuente converted. Elche’s great game, with goals from Tete Morente and Mario Gaspar, was close to a win, but after the 2-1 score it fell apart.
Roger Brugué equalized in the 77th minute and, in long stoppage time, Dani Gómez completed the ‘granota’ comeback that prevented Elche from taking second place. The team from Elche is left with 53 points, the same as Espanyol that tied with Tenerife on Saturday, rounding off the day of leader Leganés (59) after its epic comeback also on Saturday at La Cerámica.
Earlier this Sunday, Eibar, who remained at 52, did another favor to the people of Madrid with their defeat against Real Valladolid. The Basque team took the lead after two minutes through Bautista but played from minute ten with one less due to the direct red card to Berrocal. Paulo Pezzolano’s team had faith and turned the score around in the second half.
